American Standard Air Conditioners
Platinum Series: Our most efficient model, the American Standard® Heating and Air Conditioning Platinum series, includes innovative American Standard Link technology to control all system components. The quiet, high-efficiency Duration™ variable speed compressor runs at lower speeds for longer periods—with up to 700 speeds providing precise temperature control while saving on energy bills.
Gold Series: American Standard’s Gold Series air conditioners feature Duration two-stage compressors with high and low speeds to keep your home comfortable when it’s hot and sticky outside. As with the Platinum series, our proprietary Spine Fin coils ensure efficient heat transfer and excellent durability.
Silver Series: Silver Series air conditioners from American Standard keep your home cool by pairing hardworking, single-stage Duration compressors with the same Spine Fin coils in the Platinum and Gold models. Designed for zero-lot-line applications and other tight spaces, the Silver 16 Low Profile air conditioner keeps your family comfortable no matter your space constraints.
Air Conditioning Repair
On a hot summer day, we often arrive on a customer AC service call only to find the problem simple. There is a good chance you could save time and money by checking these things before you call for service:
Ensure your thermostat is "ON" and set to "COOL" and the desired room temperature is lower than the current ambient temperature.
If your thermostat or mini split remote control has batteries, change them now.
Check your circuit breaker panel to ensure your heating system breaker is "ON"
Make sure your "SYSTEM SWITCH" is set to "ON". This switch is typically a traditional toggle switch that may have a RED cover plate.
Check the refrigerant lines where they connect to your indoor coil. Are they covered with frost or ice? If so, change your air handler or furnace filter and ensure all the grilles and registers in your duct system are open and unobstructed.
If your thermostat or the system power is off, give it a few minutes after turning the system on; many AC systems have a time-delay function on start-up.
If your system is blowing cool air, but not cooling as well as it should, check your outdoor unit to ensure there is nothing blocking airflow through the outdoor coil. PLEASE NOTE: Be very careful not to damage the fins on your outdoor coil and call us if you need help!
Air Conditioning Maintenance Agreements
Consistent pre-season maintenance will ensure reliable operation, higher efficiency, and a longer service life for AC equipment. We offer attractive air conditioning maintenance programs. Before the warm weather, we'll clean and check your AC condenser, replace your air filters, and carefully run-test your system to make sure your system is in peak condition for the coming summer. Each spring, we will contact you to schedule your pre-seasonal tune-up. Learn more about our maintenance agreements.
